Officials Celebrate Former Conant Thread Mill as New Mixed-Use Site

PAWTUCKET – There’s a new jewel in the city, and it comes in the form of a 140-year-old-plus mill building that has been remodeled into a beautiful center for residents to “live, work and play.”
That happens to be the rallying cry for those doing all those things at the old site of the Conant Thread Company’s administrative offices at 390 Pine St., which now is not only the home of Shri Studio and two other social enterprise businesses but also eight residential apartments, five of which will be deed-restricted affordable housing units.
